The Role
We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our passionate team. This newly created role is testament to the growth and success of our Imago product, and we are looking for an exceptional candidate to contribute to its continued development. As a Data Scientist with Seequent, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of what is possible when it comes to geology. Reporting to the Lead Data Scientist, you will work alongside our talented team to develop and implement machine learning solutions that solve complex problems.

Please note, this role is to be based hybrid from our Perth office.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Problem solve using cutting-edge machine learning technologies
- Deliver high quality solutions to our customers
- Prepare and curate data sets to drive innovation in the mining and geology industry
- Clean pre-processed and post-processed data
- Design and train machine learning models to solve complex problems
- Stay up to date with new developments in machine learning technology and experiment with innovative approaches
- Collaborate and share knowledge with the team to drive growth in our machine learning capabilities
This role could be a good fit for you if you have:
- Experience using Python for computer vision tasks/analysis
- A qualification in data science, a quantitative science, mathematics, computer science or a related field
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining machine learning models and data pipelines
- Commercial software development experience and a desire to build products that make real impact
- Experience working with cloud-based data solutions and eagerness to utilise these tools to drive innovation
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and build sustainable working relationships
- Tenacity, persistence, and enthusiasm for problem solving and continual learning
- A team player mindset, with the ability to motivate and collaborate with your team
