IKEA is about making things better. All the way from the factory floors to the homes of the many people. We have a passion for renewing and improving things. This is part of our DNA. But how do we know what’s better or what to improve? By unleashing the full potential of data about and around of products, internal and external. It is about taking quicker and better decisions with facts as a base - going from a reactive way of working to a more proactive and prescriptive way of working - enabling people to focus on value adding tasks. We need to start somewhere as change is happening fast. Machine learning and other advanced analytics tools have a learning curve, the more we practice, the better we get. It’s about exploiting opportunities where we have data now and exploring areas where more data can be captured and drive value and where we need to build new capabilities. We are now concentrating resources in a central function for building up capabilities and competence within advanced analytics.
Come and join us as our Data Scientist in the advanced analytics team.
As an experienced data scientists you will build analytical systems consisting of both data processing and machine learning modelling pipelines. You will put these systems into production and maintain them in our analytical platform. This job is less about doing small scaled experimental analysis and more about scaling up by putting analytical systems into production and having them frequently updated with large amounts of data.
You will be part of a small team of data scientists, data engineers, UI developers and project leaders who work in several parallel projects using agile methods to develop analytical systems together with our internal business users. In this role you will report to the head of advanced analytics within Range and Supply Business Steering.
We believe you are a team player who can collaborate with other data scientists while still being able to focus on individual work. You have a passion for data science and we want you to have a few years of experience from building, applying and maintaining systems of machine learning models into a production environment. For this job you need a combination of knowledge in statistics, software development, business knowledge and skills in handling billions of rows of data. We think that you have done this before and are now ready for a new challenge and are eager to show us how you would do it! It is important that you can communicate with other colleagues and explain complex data science topics.
Please send your application – CV and letter of motivation – in English by May 31th, 2020. We really want to get to know you, so make sure you tell us why you want to work as Data Scientist at IKEA Range&Supply and why you would be a good fit for this role.
