Working environment

We are one of the Product Engines focussing on Transaction Banking and are responsible for serving ~5 million customers, enabling data analytics and reporting for a vast product portfolio covering: current accounts, payment cards, packages, savings, insurances, open banking APIs, digital products like Apple Pay/ Google Pay etc. and associated business/ risk management processes. We contribute significantly to the revenue of the bank, also manage different regulatory and operational topics, and we want to continue and improve on this path to Product Excellence.

We apply business intelligence & advanced analytics to explore, research and gather valuable insights ; define, report & monitor Key Performance Indicators for one or more product groups ; advise them on new proposition designs and duty of care topics ; help decide the course of action and setting priorities with the aim to achieve great customer satisfaction and vendor relations. We also act as change agents to embed a data driven mindset at all levels of the organization, thereby strengthening data maturity and literacy in the bank.

This team of 10 analysts (4 nationalities) works under guidance of Prateeksha Garg (Expert Lead) and is positioned under leadership of Alex Evers (Head of Transaction Banking Office).

Your job

In your role as an experienced data analyst, you will

  • Conduct data research/analytics on different datasets (products, transactions, channels, customers)
  • Extract actionable insights from large data sources, perform recurring/ ad hoc quantitative analysis
  • Understand underlying processes for different products & services, like connecting the dots
  • Engage in complex long term projects, with focus on continuous delivery in small increments
  • Be proactive in seeking opportunities to improve with regards to team, processes and data
  • Guide other analysts on acquired business knowledge, programming languages, tools and best practices
  • Practice the art of storytelling through numbers and effective visualization techniques
  • Organize ‘opportunity finding sessions’ to translate business questions to analytics use case
  • Host data awareness and literacy sessions to elevate data driven decision making across teams
  • Be analytical, have an eye for detail while keeping in mind the bigger picture
  • Be happy to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams & promote teams working together at all levels
  • Manage a diverse stakeholder field, communicate effectively and proactively
  • Stay curious, ask enough questions to deep dive and not hesitate to change/ challenge the status quo

Your profile

Do you think you are a fit? Check your qualifications:

  • Degree in STEM or economics/business, with an analytics focus
  • 6-8 years of work experience, with at least 4-5 years in analytical field
  • Proficiency in programming language such as SQL, Python or R
  • Expertise in data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau
  • Good understanding of data mining techniques, emerging technologies (Spark, machine learning, neural networks etc) & cloud technology e.g. Azure Cloud Services
  • Inclination for mentoring junior team members on hard and soft skills
  • A strong combination of analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, communication and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with agile development methodology, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Can do attitude, impressive written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Nice to have : Understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and data modelling techniques
  • Nice to have : Microsoft DA-100 certification
