About the Role
We are looking for a savvy and experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team of analysts and software experts. Our Data Engineering positions offer a high level of autonomy and flexibility. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your projects and find opportunities to implement robust, scalable, and reliable data solutions across the business.
You will be responsible for maintaining, expanding and optimizing our data and pipeline architecture. You will be the owner and subject matter expert for the systems and components required to deliver scalable and maintainable products. You will enhance our data collection techniques within cross functional teams and you are well versed at writing code. You can easily maintain a complex system that embodies the caredash.com website and its 24/7 up-time and reliability.
We are looking for a candidate with several years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field. You should also have experience using the following software/tools:
Experience with big data tools: BigQuery
Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres, MongoDB, ElasticSearch.
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, Switch, Fivetran, etc.
Experience with DevOps environments within AWS and Google cloud services: Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Storage, RDS, to name a few
Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as: Python, Ruby, etc
You belong at CareDash if you are an experienced data pipeline fanatic who enjoys data systems and building them from the ground up, writing smart queries and researching the results. You are self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems and products. You are excited by the prospect of optimizing and re-inventing our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and initiatives.
You are an exceptionally high performing individual with skills that include:
Advanced working SQL knowledge, experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), as well as familiarity with a variety of databases.
Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, data sets and analytical dashboards that answer business questions.
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and entrepreneurial startup environment
