We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer on a contract basis to join the North America Data and Analytics Organization. Work with world-class talent in the field of Data Engineering with the goal of better business insights and driving data-driven decisions across the organization. Work closely with hard-working teams - Internal partners, Product Owners, Engineering Leaders, Data Analysts, Big Data Leads, and Engineers. This role is 100% remote.


What You’ll Do


  • Build and deliver scalable data and analytics solutions focused on the company's Direct, Supply Chain, and Commercial space.
  • Design, implement, and integrate new technologies and evolve data and analytics products.
  • Contribute to all aspects of data engineering from ingestion, transformation, and consumption in addition to designing and building test-driven development, reusable frameworks, automated workflows, and libraries at scale to support analytics products.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions to process and store high-volume data sets.
  • Establish database management systems, standards, guidelines, and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan, and security policy.
  • Document and communicate database design.
  • Evaluate and install database management systems.
  • Code complex programs and derives logical processes on technical platforms.
  • Build windows, screens, and reports.
  • Assist in the design of user interface and business application prototypes.
  • Participate in quality assurance and develops test application code in a client-server environment.
  • Provide expertise in devising, negotiating, and defending the tables and fields provided in the database.
  • Adapt business requirements, developed by modeling/development staff and systems engineers, and develops the data, database specifications, and table and element attributes for an application.
  • At more experienced levels, help to develop an understanding of the client's original data and storage mechanisms.
  • Determine the appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization.
  • Determine how tables relate to each other and how fields interact within the tables for a relational model.


The Ideal Candidate Must Have


  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in the Data Engineering field
  • 2+ years experience working with Hadoop and Big Data processing frameworks (Spark, Hive, Nifi, Spark-Streaming, Flink, etc.)
  • Experience building scalable, real-time, and high-performance cloud data lake solutions
  • Strong experience with relational SQL and programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related CI/CD processes
  • Experience working with Big Data streaming services such as Kinesis, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience working with NoSQL data stores such as HBase, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Experience provisioning RESTful API’s to enable real-time data consumption
  • Experience working in AWS environment primarily EMR, S3, Kinesis, Redshift, Athena, etc.
  • Experience with data warehouses/RDBMS like Snowflake and Teradata
  • Experience with workflow scheduling tools like Airflow
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, data architecture, and technical designs
  • Has a strong problem-solving and analytical approach
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with team members and business partners
  • Proven track record to partner with teams in solving complex problems by taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions


Education


  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical subject area or equivalent combination of education and experience


Hours & Location:


  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% remote.

The salary range for this position is $62.7 - $77.7 per hour.
