**This role is with our team in Chicago, however, if you live in a hub location that include Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles or Atlanta you may work remotely. If you live outside of these areas, you would need to relocate to Chicago**

The Digital Customer Experience - Personalization team is on a mission to reinvent the digital styling experience through the power of data and artificial intelligence. What you'll do

Technical Excellence

  • Track record of delivering end-to-end data science products, i.e. ability to work across the product lifecycle from research and discovery to operationalization and production.

  • You master the entire end-to-end ML pipeline with solid, vast and deep proficiency of the families of techniques for each step of the ML product development. Ideally, you are an expert in at least one of the following: recommender systems, natural language processing, computer vision, deep learning.

  • Deep Python skills and proficiency in several machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., spark, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy , tensorflow , pytorch , keras , theano , seaborn, matplotlib, etc.)

  • Excellent software engineering best practices, including test driven development, code review, and version control with git.

  • Own large-to-complex machine learning projects independently driving technical decisions and making informed trade-offs that balance quick wins with long term robust solutions

  • Your passion for machine learning, curiosity, problem solving, and innovation empower you to stay up-to-date with research and to prototype new ideas quickly

  • Track record of peer reviewed publications and presentations at relevant ML conferences a plus.

Relationships and communication

  • Engage with Data Science & Analytics program management and stakeholders to frame, structure and prioritize business problems where data science projects or tools can have the biggest impact.

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional agile team spanning product management, engineering, user research and design to build innovative product solutions.

  • Work closely with data engineering partners to leverage and improve our Machine Learning infrastructure.

  • Influence the product strategy by uncovering business opportunities.

  • Nurture partnerships with stakeholders, cultivate ongoing alignment and provide visibility on ongoing progress and trade-offs.

  • Aptitude for breaking down complex technical topics for audiences with mixed levels of technical expertise and track record of storytelling with data. In particular, translating technical concepts into business outcomes and recommendations is essential for success in this role.

  • Comfort and aptitude for regularly presenting progress, insights and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Strong technical writer and documenter.

  • Support the hiring and development of the best talent

  • Be a role model of our world class data science team. You will provide technical excellence, identify ways to improve our processes and toolkits and mentor team members to continuously elevate the cultural and technical bar of the team.

What your background may look like

  • MSc in quantitative field (or equivalent experience). PhD is a plus.

  • 5+ years of relevant hands-on industry experience with track record of building successful end-to-end data product

  • Deep Python skills including familiarity with pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow , etc .

  • Proficiency with graphics/visualization software ( e.g. plotly , dash, seaborn, ggplot , matplotlib, Tableau).

  • Extensive experience with SQL. Experience working with NoSQL data environments and tools such as Hadoop, Spark, DynamoDB is a plus.

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services ecosystem.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
