The Role

Veeva OpenData provides reference data for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations (HCOs) covering all specialties and classes of trade. It is a high-quality and innovative product designed for the Pharma Industry to support essential activities like sales execution, compliance, and business analytics.

The candidate will be joining the OpenData APAC team. The team is in an exciting phase of growth and looking to expand rapidly across the region. As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in constructing and managing the end-to-end data pipelines of the business and our customers. You will also be involved in various robotics process automation activities aimed at performing data scraping and ETL from various health system sources. Lastly, you will support the business’ management team in reporting and business intelligence activities.

What You’ll Do

    • Design, execute, automate data ETL pipelines from multiple data sources/data providers/public repositories using Veeva’s proprietary data management tools and standard cloud data platforms
    • Design, build and manage web scraping solutions to crawl, extract and ingest data using various tools (Mozenda, custom developed scripts, APIs, etc.)
    • Support solutioning around the automation of data-related activities across the business and take part in projects aimed at executing these solutions
    • Provide accurate feasibility and workload estimates (JIRA) as part of an agile scrum team
    • Support and run Data Quality Assessment projects in coordination with Business Stakeholders
    • Design and create reports and insights that will help identify areas of business improvement

Requirements

    • 3+ years in software engineering, data-engineering or data analyst roles
    • Familiar with Agile and working in a Scrum Team
    • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
    • Hands-on experience with Linux scripts and command-line tool
    • Experience using web scraping tools such as Mozenda Platform, web services (API), or cURL
    • Experience managing / implementing ETL processes and data platforms in cloud-based environments
    • Experience working with modern API frameworks
    • Experience managing and implementing data-related process automation / RPA activities
    • Good communication skills in English and familiarity working with business stakeholders
    • Team player with the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and mutual consideration
    • Independent drive for results with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility

Nice to Have

    • Proficiency with other scripting/development languages (e.g., Java, Shell, HTML)
    • Experience with data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting
    • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, PowerBI)
    • Experience with DevOps frameworks
    • Experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical data space
