The Data Scientist position will produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from unstructured, diverse datasets. In working with vast amounts of data from multiple sources to provide, predictive and prescriptive analytics suspecting data will be produced and created within the WellMed’s Risk Adjustment systems platform.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Applies knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns
  • Identifies opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement
  • Uses a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data
  • Works with analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, PySpark and others to perform analysis and interpret data
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Translates concepts into practice while working in concert with IT and other technical teams to drive the business request
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science with a concentration in Data Science or related field required. (Four additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking experience/ability
  • Experience with Python and SQL
  • Experience with PyTorch, Tensorflow packages
  • Experience with big data sets including those in Databricks and Hadoop
  • Experience with Azure or other cloud ML operations environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced or Masters level degree in Data Science Data Analytics or related field
  • Azure Data Scientist Associate Certification
  • DataIku ML Practitioner Certification
  • Knowledge of Medicare Risk Adjustment
  • Ability to effectively work with both internal and external clients
