As a Data Analyst, within Sweden Operations in Södertälje, you’ll play a pivotal role in channelling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. What You’ll Do

The Analytics & Insights team is part of the Digital Business Transformation function within Sweden Operations. We operate in a highly cross-disciplinary environment in close collaboration with a broad variety of expert teams across the company globally. Our analytics projects and solutions span across the entire Sweden Operations value chain: e.g., Inbound, Warehousing, Weighing & Dispensing, Manufacturing (several factories with different products and technologies), Quality, and Outbound, as well as support functions such as Maintenance, Supply and Production Planning, etc.

As a Data Analyst, you will work together with internal customers and business stakeholders to develop and maintain self-service business intelligence solutions to support fact-based decision making and drive performance improvements across Sweden Operations. You are interested in advancing your career while improving our team’s effectiveness within AstraZeneca.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Translate business problems into tractable data problems for which analytical solutions can be created.
  • Develop new analytics/business intelligence solutions from an end to end perspective – from data extraction, data transformation and modelling to visualization and reporting.
  • Model and build reusable data products, utilizing data from AZ Operations global data hub.
  • Migrate existing business critical solutions from old QlikView versions to modern supported platforms (Power BI, Qlik Sense).
  • Manage existing solutions through their lifecycle by working with continuous improvements and backlog items to secure each BI solution reaches its full potential and value for the business, e.g. manage changes in underlying data structures, support identification and ingestion of new data sources, etc.
  • Support customers and business users to interpret data and generate insights.

You will work in a collaborative environment in project teams that are close to the business, delivering solutions of high value. You will be part of a highly competent and capable analytics team having extensive knowledge of both business intelligence and data science as well as business processes. This gives opportunities for continuous knowledge sharing and competence development across the team and wider business. Working with innovations and supporting the business will require that majority of work is done on site, however allowing flexibility to work from home when suitable based on work tasks.

Essentials For The Role

  • Experience of developing business intelligence solutions in tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI or similar
  • Degree (or relevant work experience) in computer science, engineering or a related field
  • Experience with database systems and querying data through SQL
  • Strong analytical capabilities with good knowledge of quantitative analysis
  • Self-led and someone who takes initiatives to get things done
  • Strong customer focus, good communicator and used to collaborate with partners who have a wide range of different competencies – including those with no programming experience
  • Fluent in English — both in speaking and writing

Desirables for the role

Experience with:

  • ERP / Enterprise system logic and data structures
  • Cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure)
  • Programming in Python
  • Software development tools and principles (e.g., version control, shared repositories, CICD, scrum, agile)
  • Swedish

It’s meriting if you have knowledge within SAP ECC, Werum PAS-X, Labware LIMS as well as previous experience of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
