The Information and Technology Services (ITS) team is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to manage and deliver data analytics projects.

ITS has a substantial and complex portfolio of services. It provides support services to DTF, as well as knowledge and expertise to harness the possibilities in Information and Technology in alignment with the Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) IT Strategy. ITS is undergoing significant transformative change which brings opportunity for innovation, progressive thinking, breaking with convention, challenging the status quo, and improving the world around us.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Senior Data Analyst is responsible for:

  • Designing and providing reporting and advanced data insights, to support and uplift DTF analytics capabilities.
  • Interpreting data and analysing results using advanced statistical techniques to provide meaningful and measurable business insights and benefits.
  • Developing predictive analytics and strategic data reporting models to support Victorian Cabinet Ministers, senior executives, and other business owners in DTF.
  • Preparing data and visualisations in a manner that informs constructive business decisions and promotes enterprise reporting solutions across the whole of DTF and other Victorian government departments.

About you

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive knowledge of delivery of information technology data analytics dashboards and reports using OACS or other similar technologies such as Tableau or Power BI, including change and releases management.
  • Extensive experience in technical data architecture, data design, data modelling, implementation, development and maintenance of BI & Analytics applications and products.
  • Strong mathematical knowledge and/or proven skills and experience in statistics, including regression analysis and statistical modelling.
  • Demonstrated experience in using a data warehouse or data lakes for sophisticated extractions of data and to implement new data analysis and reporting use cases.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of two years.
