WPP are underway with a significant programme of technology-enabled change across our Finance, Professional Services and People function and this role will be instrumental in ensuring that our programme is understood, welcomed, and enthusiastically adopted through the business as we progress.

In this role you will be responsible for analysis of Finance/PSA data processes and data quality and operate as a champion for the solution with operational stakeholders. You will actively engage with and build a highly productive and trusted working relationship with OpCO stakeholders and with members of the programme team

You will be a key member of the Workday @Scale programme data team, providing your expertise on understanding and contributing to the design of a comprehensive data extractions, cleansing, transformation, validation and load pathway. You will bring your analysis skills to understand, document and establish world class approaches to data migration from legacy to target.

Workday @Scale is a large-scale programme that will replace some of our core technology and also influence the ways of working for many of our colleagues at WPP. This flagship programme will see Workday deployed across our global landscape to address the technology needs of Finance, Projects and our People function – so essentially it touches all of our employees to some degree. The key to this programme is that data is an enabler for our transformation and is the backbone of our technology deployment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working in conjunction with the programme data leadership to identify the in-scope systems to be migrated to the Workday and the data footprint within those businesses
  • Analysis and data profiling of legacy solutions to be mapped and migrated to the Workday solution for in scope businesses. Identifying outliers, anomalies and issues in process and management of data.
  • Working in conjunction with SI partner to agree most effective and efficient tooling to be used for the data migration processes, recognising the long-term requirements of the programme
  • Working with data team colleagues to meet needs of programme
  • Ensuring all work activities associated with the identification cleansing, enrichment, extract, transform and load of data from legacy systems into Workday is auditable and accurate.
  • Help define and adhere to data standards and disciplines including those required for Programme Management and governance
  • Contribute to a data governance forum
  • In conjunction with SI, contribute to the data migration strategy and plan for the new ERP for all in scope OpCos, from profiling to migration, including transition to BAU support
  • Work with the OpCo and Project Sponsors and Data Leads to ensure programme objectives are being met and risks managed
  • Collaborate with data teams including both IT, business and 3rd party to ensure that activities are operated with the right quality and to schedule
  • Provide expertise on data migration to deal with the complexity and scale of the legacy landscape
  • Work with the Workday @Scale programme data lead and PMO to ensure delivery is executed according to plan and within budgetary constraints

What you'll need:

  • A background in financial and project data analysis and mapping – ideally in a complex, global environment with a significant degree of data variation, ideally in a financial services or large-scale corporate environment
  • Background in large data conversion projects, with multiple data sources from varying data models utilizing SAP/Oracle/Workday/similar as target
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills – to present data concepts in a meaningful way
  • Successful project data stream experience within a large, complex multi-site/ supplier environment and able to demonstrate a range of concluded projects/ programmes
  • A strong background in driving efficiency of data activities in an organization of relevant size, complexity and scale
  • Large-scale global ERP functional background, likely in complex financial service or FMCG managing data migrations at scale.
  • Confidence in challenging situations, able to inform senior management and work under pressure
  • Dogged, determined and attention to detail essential
