Senior Data Scientist,Triangle Retail Media (TRM), will be responsible for designing, developing, and automating customer centric data models and reporting capabilities, that empower the organization with the tools to offer best in class personalized customer experiences. TRM is Canadian Tire Corporation’s (CTC) rapidly scaling Retail Media Network Business across banners. Investing behind this business and scaling it over the next five years is a top strategic priority for CTC. As a member of the TRM team, you will work alongside groups of industry experts in a highly agile, entrepreneurial, and exciting environment. You will make an impact by:
- Developing and maintaining customer and loyalty data capabilities and attributes to execute on TRM’s business strategy and objectives that challenge the status quo in our industry
- Designing and developing big data applications to implement predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms across the full analytical model life cycle from creation and validation to deployment, management, governance, and monitoring
- Querying, mining, extracting, and transforming raw loyalty/ transactional data from our data warehouse using SQL to support various TRM initiatives and campaign executions
- Creating, maintaining, and activating traits and segments in the internal data management platform as well as external media platforms to enable targeted media execution on behalf of TRM clients
- Leveraging expertise in analytical tools and statistical models to create a system for data science translation into business terms, and deriving an audience story and strategy from data as needed
- Working collaboratively with relevant cross-functional teams including partners in IT and data infrastructure team to ingest and utilize new data sources as they become available
- Adapting to ongoing product and technology developments and identifying opportunities for growth and development, as it relates to the needs of the retail media network industry
What You Bring
- Post secondary education in statistics/ math/ analytics or a related quantitative discipline
- 4+ years of related work experience, with a solid understanding of data science disciplines, including hypothesis testing, statistical modeling, machine learning, recommendation systems, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, deep learning, etc.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with statistical programming languages, including SAS, R, Python or MATLAB, with a working knowledge of designing and driving cross functional analyses
- Hands-on experience with data management platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Azure, Amazon AWS) and industry standard data warehousing technologies (Cloudera, Snowflake, etc.) to centralize and process data
- Experience using advanced tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc. and working knowledge with relational and non-relational modeling, database applications and integrations, ETL tools, client/server solutions, and modern query languages
- Ability to self-direct, and define and execute projects independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with training and mentoring of team members
- Comfort with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities/needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
