About the role:

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join Equip’s Research team. The primary responsibility of the data analyst is to provide clinical data insights and intelligence to various stakeholders within and outside the organization. The data analyst will work with the Director of Research to understand the requirements from the product, engineering, clinical and operations teams to design and implement an effective and automated pipeline for clinical data. They will also be responsible for creating reports with relevant metrics and analytics, troubleshooting data issues, conducting exploratory data analysis, and monitoring data performance. This will be the second hire within the Research department and the first data analyst. The data analyst will report to the Director of Research.


The right person will
have strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data with attention to detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate is also comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, solving problems independently, and comfortable with ambiguity as data systems and processes are still being shaped.


Other Specific Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing automated and efficient processes around data collection, data cleaning, and data analysis.
  • Designing and managing processes around data reporting to meet the deadlines for internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Identifying patterns in Equip’s data sets to provide ongoing reporting.
  • Working with the Director of Research, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders on integration of data from various sources into Equip’s data warehouse.
  • Assisting with the design and execution of other research projects.
  • Helping with manuscript preparation for both academic publications and white papers.


Qualifications:

  • Working experience as a Data Analyst
  • Strong experience writing queries and automating a data pipeline process
  • Experience writing reports on analytic metrics and presenting findings
  • Fluent in SQL and experience querying data and working with engineering teams
  • Experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (R, SPSS, SAS)
  • Proficient with visualizing data and building stories and dashboards in Tableau and/or Quicksights
  • Strong attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of proven experience in an analytics role

Bonus if you have the following:

  • A masters degree in a health-related field (e.g., public health, social work, nutrition)
  • Previous experience working in a healthtech startup
  • Experience as an early data hire in a startup environment
  • Familiarity with A/B testing techniques
  • Experience working with data warehousing tools in AWS
  • Passion for mental health and eating disorder treatment
