Job Purpose:
To provide in-depth insight into the operational efficiencies of the transport business unit through data analysis and key regularised reporting on designated KPA's as well as through ad hoc reporting and improvement opportunity identification requests.
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyse and work with large data sets doing queries, data cleansing, transformation and presentations
- Responsible for ad-hoc reports as required by auditors and / or business partners
- Ensure timeous distribution of monthly, weekly and daily data analysis & reports to internal and external customers
- Identify business intelligence system gaps in decision making tools and technologies
- Review and recommend suitable technical specifications for BI tools and technology
- Draw up technical specifications for delivery of information based on thorough analysis and understanding of business requirements
- Manage BI and reporting change requests from both internal and external customers
- Staff and colleague training on new reports and efficiency-driving work tools designed by Analytics Department
- Process mapping and assisting process owners with improvements where required
- To fulfill any and all ad-hoc or standardised data analysis and / or reporting requirements where deemed necessary
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
- Matric Certificate
- Suitable tertiary qualification
- 2-3 years experience in Supply Chain environment - preferably road transport industry experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills and understanding of basic mathematical principles
- Ability to compile data in the appropriate format - must be able graphically illustrate trends and statistics
- Good understanding of conventional route to market distribution and transport methods
- Interact with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner at all times
- Internet knowledge - research, the ability to learn new methods and skills as required within the scope of work
- Self-starter and self-motivated
- Ability to work within a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work under stress.
- Have own vehicle as working hours could be very long depending on project requirements
