The promise of big data for health is tantalizing. It gets bigger and faster almost by the minute, but it is unstructured, messy. And patient privacy must be protected without fail. Embracing data science to make sense of data is part of the answer, but traditional data science alone doesn’t solve the unique challenges that come from non-identified human data.

In this role, you will develop a full understanding of all relevant EMR (Electronic Medical Records) data sources and the Real Data Factory production system including any data transformations.

A typical day might include:

• Working with Data Modelers to support the mapping of new data sources
• Deploying knowledge & expertise to support User Acceptance Testing of new deliverables and developments
• Creating data comparisons of outputs from different systems and discover root cause of any differences
• Working with local offices, central and hub production teams to enhance quality assurance approach and reporting
• Extracting relevant information from a wide variety of data sources and manipulate using SQL to produce reports and presentations that deliver information in the most appropriate and impactful way
• Managing personal workload and complete all tasks by agreed timelines or notify Scrum Master or Operations Managers of any risk arising in time for mitigation plans to be put in place
• Supporting the execution and documentation of new production processes, quality processes and test results using globally recognised standards.

Our ideal candidate:

• Highly numerate with analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
• Beginner or Intermediate level of SQL programming and an aptitude for programming logic
• Excellent communicator with the ability to present complex results in a clear language avoiding technical jargon without sacrificing detail or meaning
• Ability to work on own initiative and to work under pressure
• Previous experience with healthcare or pharmaceutical data an advantage
• Fluent English in addition to the local language is essential.
