Jimdo’s mission is to unleash the power of self-employed small business owners, the backbone of the global economy, and help them thrive. We offer products and services to help founders start, grow, and manage their businesses.
Jimdo was founded by three school friends in 2007 in a farmhouse in Northern Germany. Today, we’re a growing profitable business with a team of 250+ people from 50 nationalities based in over 15 countries. We have a physical location in Hamburg, Germany, where teams come together for in-person collaboration. Jimdo started as a website builder, and has helped businesses create over 32 million websites. Over the years, our portfolio evolved to specifically serve the unique needs of microbusinesses. In addition to our GDPR-compliant website builder powered by AI, we offer an online store, logo creator, legal text generator, business listings, social media integration, SEO, and more.
We are constantly developing new products and services that make the lives of microbusiness owners easier and help fuel their businesses. If you’re inspired by our mission and like the idea of working for a dynamic remote-first company where you can create impact from day 1, we’d love to meet you!
What you'll do:
The Data Engineering team runs a highly scalable data platform with the goal to empower Jimdo colleagues and customers with timely, actionable and reliable data.
Jimdoers have an insatiable appetite for data! Executives want to understand the business direction and identify untapped opportunities. Product and Marketing teams are constantly measuring the success of their actions and running experiments. Engineers want to easily implement event tracking and augment their applications with real time data intelligence. As a Data Engineer, you will be at the heart of all of this, and collaborate very closely with analytics engineers, analysts, and many more users of our data platform to understand their challenges and solve them with scalable, reliable data products.
Our Data Platform is built on best-of-class stack and constantly evolving. At this point we mostly use AWS stack (Redshift, S3, DMS, Kinesis and more) , although we are currently replatforming to Snowflake. We also make heavy use of Python, SQL, DBT and Airflow for our data pipelines. Our infrastructure is built on Kubernetes, Docker, and Github Actions, and uses Terraform.
What We Value:
