Lead/Mentor a small team of data scientists in Krakow while reporting to more senior team members in the United States and the United Kingdom
Define project objectives, data specifications and project plan for an efficient delivery
Manage all aspects of project management including but not limited to internal updates, staffing discussions and proactive management of potential issues
Build statistical models to help bank clients classify potential customers and/or quantify the risk of fraud and malicious customer intent
Work with other data scientists in the design and execution of data mining tools
Code and test programs to extract data, analyze data and build functional data models
Clearly document model specification and performance metrics by leveraging pre-defined, specific documentation templates
2-5 years practical experience working as a data scientist applying machine learning to real-world problems
Ability and desire to mentor junior team members to help in their professional development
Capability to select the optimal statistical model/machine learning methodology to solve practical business problems, as well as to perform dependent variable analysis and vintage analysis related to model development
Understanding of advanced statistical concepts (such as time series models, gradient boosting, regularization, etc.)
Ability to investigate and leverage new popular machine learning algorithms and corresponding inference, diagnostic and implementation related to the method
Advanced knowledge using Python/SQL for data science applications to perform complicated data manipulation and analysis
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve the project objectives in a timely fashion
Comfort collaborating with team members in Krakow, the United States and the United Kingdom
Ability to clearly communicate technical processes and results in English to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred: Postgraduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics or physics
