The Division of Cardiovascular Sciences seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Data Scientist to provide statistical programming and data science support to Professor Chris Miller’s research programme aiming to reclassify heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) into more distinct diagnoses and evaluate whether patients in each of the distinct groups respond differently to treatments, identify clinical features that could be used to predict who will develop HFpEF, and develop and implement clinical models to guide patient management.
Specifically, the research will involve working with local and nationally held data. The applicant will also be involved with setting up and supporting the data infrastructure for a national registry, and with database development and support. The applicant will provide statistical programming support. The applicant will be working with clinical data, including laboratory and imaging data.
You should have experience of data science, computer science or experience in another relevant discipline. You should have experience of working with and setting up databases, such as REDCap. You should have experience of statistical computing, particularly in R or Python, and have experience of applying statistical methods for longitudinal data. You will be a good communicator and be systematic in their approach, and have a willingness to learn new programming languages, platforms and methodologies.
