An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proven Data Engineer to undertake a pivotal role in the Quality and Transformation Team. The purpose of this new role is to support the delivery of data projects and functions, enabling analysts and other staff within the team and division access to good quality data where required.

You will have:

  • Proven experience of data engineering techniques and concepts, including data ingestion, processing, and storage.
  • Extensive hands-on experience of large complex Data Engineering projects designing and developing ETL pipelines in a cloud or on-premise environment.
  • Experience of design and implementation of data storage, including relational and NoSQL.
  • Experience of developing/ utilising programming and query languages e.g SQL
  • The ability to monitor performance and advise on any required infrastructure of changes.
  • A good understanding of data management, governance and quality frameworks.
  • An excellent understanding of relational database design, star scheme, slowly changing dimensions.
  • Solution focused, with good interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • A collaborative team player who is keen to learn and develop further.
  • A strong commitment to being user-led and the ability to support others with this approach (desirable)
  • Exceptional IT skills particularly Excel, VBA and SQL
