The Role: BigHat Biosciences is seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to join our growing team. This position will accelerate BigHat’s data science capabilities focused on advancing BigHat’s state-of-the-art antibody engineering platform technologies and therapeutic programs.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Goals And Responsibilities Of This Position Include
Advance the BigHat platform through ownership of the entire data science life cycle from experimental design through data analysis and modeling, including implementation of novel antibody design strategies, development of robust data pipelines for assays of antibody function and developability, and data-driven improvements to our statistical and ML models
Drive our platform and therapeutic programs forward through the design and implementation of novel statistical methods and visualizations to interpret high throughput data on antibody sequence and function and their relationship
Collaborate closely with BigHat wet lab, software engineering, ML scientists, and other team members to enable rapidly iterative molecule development.
Innovate new strategies to QC, represent, integrate, model, and interpret diverse datasets for designing new antibody sequences.
This role reports directly to the Platform Data Science Lead and has broad responsibilities across BigHat for development of our platform and data science capabilities.
About You
PhD in a relevant domain [Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, or similar].
3+ years of developing, evaluating, and applying a data science toolkit in the biomedical space, including: classic statistical models (regression, ANOVA, random effects models), experimental design, data visualization, and AI/ML techniques (SVMs, deep learning).
Competency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
Excellent communication skills, experience interacting with diverse scientific teams.
Enjoys a fast paced environment and executing across multiple projects.
Nice-to-haves include:
Experience with data from phage display, NGS, and immunological or protein biophysical assays.
Experience building interactive data visualizations and dashboards for high throughput biological data.
