We have an exciting new opportunity at PCE for a Data Analyst to join our Business Support Team, based at PCE’s Head Office in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The Data Analyst is a key role within the Business Support Team, working closely with PCE’s Business Support Director and IT & Applications Manager, leading PCE’s digital transformation, in line with strategic objectives. Primarily responsible for turning raw data into information and insight, which can be used to make both day to day and high-level strategic business decisions, the Data Analyst collates and analyses data to identify trends and provide management with valuable information that they can use to improve operational and businesses practices. Required outputs from the role include report building, dashboards, data validation, automated importing / syncing of data between PCE’s platforms and the provision of high quality, robust data to third parties. Occasional travel to site may be required RESPONSIBILTIES Dashboards & Reporting-Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns
  • Organising and transforming information into comprehensible structures
  • Performing statistical analysis of data
  • Using tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
  • Preparing reports and presenting these to management
  • Monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data
  • Communicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements
  • Providing up to date ‘planned versus actual’ data across all areas of the business
  • Double checking to ensure high quality / standard of work is delivered at all times Office 365 / Sharepoint
  • Developing PCE’s capability on the use of Power BI to deliver next level reporting in PCE
  • Keeps up to date with Microsoft developments, researching and self-educating, to keep moving PCE forward
  • Imparts knowledge to others, raising awareness within the business of what is available to us
  • Sets up data linking between excel spreadsheets Third Party Platforms / Suppliers
  • Provision of validated data, formatted in line with agreed structured criteria, to PCE’s third party platforms, clients etc.
  • Supporting PCE’s supply chain to ensure that externally provided data meets the criteria required
  • Extraction of data from platforms to feed internal reports and to provide to third parties, e.g. clients, supply chain, integrated platforms Innovation
  • Responsible for exploring new innovation, both within existing applications and other applications, that compliment what PCE currently use, to offer suitable options to the business that will help to deliver the long term goals
  • Working with third party providers to develop applications that will drive PCE forward
  • Identifying key stakeholders within the business who have the knowledge, aptitude and appetite to support the innovative development of PCE’s applications, working with them to take PCE to the next level
  • Seeks input from a variety of sources to develop business wide solutions General
  • Responding to data-related queries and keeping track of these
  • Supporting the IT and Applications Manager in the setting up of processes and systems to make working with data more efficient
  • Researching new ways to make use of data SKILLS / BEHAVIOUR / KNOWLEDGE The role requires a creative individual, who thinks outside the box and is inquisitive enough to find a solution to even the toughest problem. This person enjoys a challenge and is inspired to develop new ideas and initiatives that ‘make things better’, always with the end user in mind. Essential Proficiencies: Python Programming:
