A Senior Data Scientist a key role responsible for managing a team of Data Scientists to build or improve risk segmentation models that serve multiple use cases from pricing to triage in Commercial Insurance. You shall be working with our business partners and other data science teams to support and influence further adoption of our models in generating business value. Your team will focus on developing analytic and predictive modeling solutions and partner with our data engineers to improve some of our automated modeling assets and solutions. Additionally, your team shall be working with our MLOps initiatives to help troubleshoot models in production as well as follow best practices in coding that enable delivering data science solutions as a service

Minimum Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in data science and building segmentation models
  • Experience in pricing /risk segmentation models in commercial insurance (i.e. Workers Compensation, General Liability, Property, Auto, etc.).
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Quantitative Economics, or similar analytical field or progress towards or attainment of a relevant professional designation (i.e. ACAS/FCAS, CSPA, etc…)
  • Subject matter expertise in building predictive models utilizing Python.
  • Experience with database RDBMS technologies (i.e. Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies (i.e. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.)
  • Experience with AWS is desirable, especially Sagemaker.
  • Problem solving: Ability to translate complex technical topics into business solutions and recommended strategies
  • Stakeholder management: ability to understand the customer’s needs and negotiate scope of projects
  • Passion for learning new skills and the ability to adjust priorities on multiple projects based on changing demands/needs
  • Management experience.
