We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design and build complex XBRL data processing logic using MS SQL Server and related software packages. We’re looking for a senior member to join the team who can architect, build, and debug complex scripts in MS SQL Server.

What you will be doing

  • Enhancing and maintaining a production MS SQL server system that processes and stores large amounts of data extracted from XBRL financial reports
  • Integrating data into an Apache Solr platform that provides search results on large amounts of financial data for different end users and applications
  • Define the technical vision, engineering rigor, and architectural best practices to enhance data processing of XBRL data
  • Manage current data processing job and serve as data lead for the development team

What you need to be considered for this role (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited college/university
  • At least five (5) years of experience with MS SQL Server as a Database Developer/Engineer
  • At least three (3) years of experience with Apache Solr
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills to work with clients and partner
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and carry out projects through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • U.S. Citizenship (and willingness to undergo a background investigation)

What makes you stand out from the crowd (desired)

  • Prior experience with and/or knowledge of Python strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working with financial data or financial management systems
  • Prior experience with and/or knowledge of XBRL
