ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Data Scientist at Libertas will build machine learning models that improve and automate the company's most critical processes and experiment with state-of-the-art algorithms to drive Libertas's ability to make timely decisions at scale. The Senior Data Scientist will collaborate on new product features to improve merchant outcomes, use any and every dataset available (including 3rd party data) to engineer new features, and have a considerable impact on the future of Data Science at Libertas.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Data Scientist will collaborate on new product features to improve merchant outcomes, use any and every dataset available (including 3rd party data) to engineer new features, and have a considerable impact on the future of Data Science at Libertas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Track record of successfully building production grade models and analytics pipelines, for consumption by applications and internal customers
- Strong statistical skills and proven expertise in data science and machine learning
- Fluency in Python and SQL
- Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to prioritize, scope, design, and deploy ML models
- Proven ability to work both individually and in a team environment while displaying sound statistical and business judgment
- Expertise with common ML models and algorithms, including ability to explain complex DS/ML concepts to non-technical stakeholders including the effect of tradeoffs or constraints
- Experience with financial data is a strong plus
- Knowledge of data governance best practices, including data quality/integrity and privacy
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau or AWS QuickSight
- Experience developing integrated DS/ML pipelines with services in AWS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Economics, Applied Math, ML, Stats, Physics, or a related technical/quantitative field
- 7+ years related work experience
- Experience with machine learning and AI
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, Airflow, etc.
- Knowledge of AWS PaaS services including Redshift, Glue, EFS, S3
- Knowledge of the Agile process and Test-Driven Development
- Experience in startup companies
