We are currently looking for a Data Scientist to join our Advisory Services business based in Canberra who can lead and deliver end to end data science products for our Defence clients.

As the Data Scientist, you will be working in a small team responsible for delivering prediction tools to clients in a timely manner. You will have the freedom to develop innovative solutions, and you are looking to quietly impress others with your skills; not just follow the bouncing ball. At times, you may also need to challenge traditional assumptions about client data.

To be successful in the role of Data Scientist you will need to bring with you:

Four to five years' of experience in data collection, preparation and feature engineering activities; the testing and training of models; and the design and coding of small sized inference and user interface applications using open source Python or Java applications.

Proficiency in various machine learning prediction methods is essential such as multivariate linear regression, XG Boost, support vector machines, random forest and other ensemble methods.

Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative modelling discipline is essential.

Well-developed communications skills with the ability to discuss and write complex and technical subjects for the uninitiated.

Previous experience within the defence or similar industry environment is highly desirable

Candidates MUST hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Baseline)

Advisory Services
