Data Scientist

Job Description

As a Data Scientist, you will apply strong expertise in machine-learning, data mining, and information retrieval to design, prototype, and build next-generation analytics engines and services. You will also be responsible for coordinating with other Business Unit translators and data engineers to support and coach them on data science best practices. Work to align customer data, sales information, digital interactions, predictive analytics and algorithms to support Olympus’ Go To Market strategies across multiple divisions and customer segmentations.

Job Duties

• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business optimization.

• 
  Digest and solution business problems and design end-to-end analytics use cases.

• 
  Use predictive modelling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, targeting and other business outcomes.

• 
  Develop complex strategies, models and algorithms that drive innovation throughout the organization. This may include improving on-time performance, next-product-to-buy, customer micro-segmentation etc.

• 
  Conduct advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance

• 
  Collaborate with model developers to implement and deploy scalable solutions through the organization

• 
  Provide thought leadership by researching best practices, conducting experiments, and collaborating with industry leaders Interacts with business & analytics teams to understand how data needs to be structured for consumption Analyze sales, marketing, customer and digital data sets including - audience insights, personas, keyword research, messaging themes, competitive information and analytics to develop engaging content for email, web, social, digital campaigns, video, etc. that support sales and marketing initiatives

  Transform data into actionable insights across several different businesses and product lines and be able to apply algorithms and concepts into Go To Market planning and strategies

• 
  Recommend and support new strategies, MarTech platforms, workflow processes, and omni-channel initiatives to increase the scalability and efficiency within the marketing organizations

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 
  MS/PhD in computer science, statistics, or operations research or related technical discipline

• 
  Minimum 5 years’ experience in a statistical and/or data science role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 
  Deep knowledge of machine learning, statistics, optimization or related field

• 
  Experience with R, Python, Matlab, programming in C, C++, Java

• 
  Experience working with large data sets, simulation/ optimization and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, Arena, etc.)

• 
  Advanced ability to perform exploratory data analysis

• 
  Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their applications, advantages and drawbacks.

• 
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong desire to work in cross functional teams

• 
  Attitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment
