An Overview Of The Responsibilities For This Role Include

Following a product-led approach, the Data Engineering team is responsible for the building and operation of the company's Data and Cloud platforms.

• Build and iterate a data platform that enables us to provide a strong experience for customers by combining an understanding of customer values and needs
• Develop code using agile methodologies
• Understand stakeholder needs and the efficient way to find solutions that add value to the business
• Contribute to design and implementation of the data platform using AWS infrastructure
• Find opportunities to optimise ingestion pipelines, the ever-growing S3 data lake, and automated CI/CD with Terraform
• Create and maintain technical documentation of knowledge surrounding the data platform

The ideal candidate for this role will have a majority of the following skills and experience:

• Experience using Python/Scala for the creation of ETL pipelines
• Commercial experience utilising SQL for complex queries
• Strong experience working in a cloud based environment, ideally AWS
• Previous experience with building efficient, robust and scalable data pipelines and infrastructures
• Knowledge and experience with Spark
• Commercial experience with IaC tooling, ideally Terraform
