Remote-First Arachnys is a remote-first organisation, meaning that we work remotely but come together for collaborative on-sites and socials a handful of times a year (once it’s safe to do so). We have found that candidates within 1-2 time zones of the UK work best with our current working practices. We provide all the technology and equipment our team needs to work productively remotely as well as all travel costs if we do ask them to come to a London onsite. Our Stack On the tech side, we work on hard but rewarding problems with advanced, performant technologies. We run our own distributed infrastructure with physical and virtualised servers located all over the globe, including a 100TB+ Hadoop cluster and a 10TB+ ElasticSearch cluster. Our services are deployed to AWS with Terraform and we make use of Docker and Kubernetes in production. We are contributors to open source, with our Cabot server monitoring tool starred over 4,500 times on GitHub and AthenaPDF, a PDF generation project in Go, over 1,000 times. We are constantly looking for opportunities to open-source more and more of our non-core tech. We love to hear from people who have eclectic tastes in languages, but we have an established codebase in Python and React so we’d hope to hire people who are keen to do great work in those languages on a day-to-day basis.
