Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer, AI Offers in our Andover, MA location.

We are looking for a passionate Senior Data Engineer with proven ability to contribute to development of analytics-focused products and utilizing cutting edge technologies and in conjunction with AI/ML Architect and Data Scientists to drive powerful business results. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams to help them discover insights hidden in data sets and enable stakeholders to improve business.
Responsibilities
  • Partners with lines of business to understand business problems and translate them into identifiable data problems which can be delivered as technical solutions and actionable recommendations across the organization
  • Translate the business requirements in to corresponding data requirements.
  • Collect and process data at scale from a variety of sources for different project needs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, data platforms using selected frameworks and tools based on requirements from different projects.
  • Convert structured and unstructured data into the form that is suitable for processing. Provide support to different teams in analyzing data.
  • Work in a rapid pace environment to build Proof of Concepts.
  • Design, develop and maintain data API’s.
  • Integrate data from variety of data sources using federation / virtualization techniques.
  • Develop solutions independently based on high-level design and architecture with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in data technologies and stay current on latest data technologies.
  • Adhere to stringent quality assurance and documentation standards using version control and code repositories (e.g., Git, GitHub, Markdown)

This job might be for you if:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field. Master’s preferred.
  • Overall 10+ year experience in software design and development.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • Prior experience with implementing big data platform components that are scalable, high performing, and lower in operations cost.
  • Proven experience with integration of data from multiple heterogeneous and distributed data sources.
  • Experience with processing large amounts of data (structured and unstructured), building data models, data cleaning, data visualization and reporting.
  • Experience in production support and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on knowledge of containers, API designing, and implementing is a must.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, Graph databases, relational databases, time series databases.
  • Excellent knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks, various messaging systems, stream-processing systems, Big data ML toolkits, big data querying tools
  • Experience in Python, Go, Perl, Javascript, Kafka, Spark, Kubernetees.
  • Good knowledge of Agile software development methodology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Proven experience in working with teams based in multiple geographies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Fluency in programming skills such as Python, R, or other equivalent languages in the context of Data engineering
  • Familiarity with databases like MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL, etc. is desirable
  • Experience working with Amazon SageMaker or Azure ML Studio for deployments is a plus
  • Experience in data visualization software such as Tableau, ELK, etc is a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. You should also have a business mindset, swift to identify risk situations and opportunities, and able to generate creative solutions to business problems
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated statistical models/ reports to management and other IT development partners
