Data Scientist / Data Architect

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We currently require a Data Architect with a Data Scientist background to join our team on a permanent basis. This varied role provides advice and architecture / analytics / data science visioning to align technology with business visions and objectives to achieve our vision and mission. The role will be based at Anzac Park West and requires a NV1 security clearance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Undertake a stock take of data capabilities and tools to scale to an enterprise-level.
  • Make visualisation and business intelligence tools available to all Defence personnel.
  • Use Cases such as BIDV (business intelligence and data visualisation).
  • Determine overall modelling standards, guidelines, best practices and approved modelling techniques.
  • The planning, development and the creation of all conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Establish the Enterprise-wide data and metadata quality standards and guidelines for different datasets. Determine which datasets need to be assured to what level.
  • Support definition of Priority Data Areas.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data stewards to assess if the model is fit for use.
  • Ensure that critical information assets modelled as part of any project are represented in the enterprise information architecture (EIA) and follow the design guidelines and requirements of EIA.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Qualification or experience in Data Architecture and Data Science
  • Experience in the application of Data Science techniques to business requirements
  • Experience in developing Data Analytics solutions that address business area requirements
  • Experience with the Data Models focusing on Master Data, Data Analysis and Data Modelling
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Hold or have the ability to maintain a NV1 security clearance
