As scantrust grows the volume of data, and the number of ways it is used, is exploding. We are looking for someone with experience developing data-focused solutions using heterogeneous databases. You will be investigating new methods and architecting a new backend data architecture to meet our growing needs. This job requires someone who craves an interesting technical challenge and enjoys leading the way.

Requirements
Responsibilities
- Work with product and technical teams to gather requirements for a new data storage and processing architecture that can handle our growing needs
- Make architectural design decisions and communicate tradeoffs clearly
- Design and optimize data pipelines, tooling, and dashboards
- Understand existing infrastructure and help monitor data flows and diagnose issues
- Maintain and improve the current data architecture
- 4+ years industry experience in a data engineering or similar role
- Strong experience with relational databases (postgres preferred)
- Strong Python programming ability
- Experience with Airflow and/or other ETL/Data Pipeline tools
- Experience with AWS Data tools - RDS, Redshift, Athena
- Knowledge of Spark / Kafka / Firehose, data warehouse and data lake tools and concepts
- Experience with document and distributed databases is helpful
- Creativity and excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong opinions about the right way to do things that you aren’t afraid to defend
