This role sits in the Fundraising, Partnerships and Community (FP&C) section at Oxfam Australia. Team Overview

The Supporter Insights and Analytics (SIA) team plays a vital role within the FP&C Section at Oxfam Australia. We work to enhance Oxfam’s data and analytics capabilities, develop comprehensive reporting, and help ensure that Oxfam Australia has a deep understanding of our supporters’ needs and motivations.

The Role

As a Data Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to develop and optimize Oxfam Australia’s data and analytic systems. You will collaborate with teams across the organisation to enhance our data warehouse, improve both data modelling and ingestion processes, build analytic tools, and create insightful dashboards that analyse campaign and program results. Your work will directly support our fundraising initiatives, as well as helping the business understand its supporters and our fundraising program.

Desired Skills and Experience

    Data Modelling and Data Ingestion: Enhance Oxfam’s data warehouse by refining data modelling and data ingestion processes.

    Analytics: Collaborate with fundraising teams to create dashboards and analyse results from campaigns and programs, providing actionable insights.

    Data Tooling: Contribute to the development of tools such as our supporter data extraction portal to make data accessible and usable across the organisation.

    Collaboration: Work closely with the Supporter Insights and Analytics Manager and key stakeholders on various projects to ensure alignment with both deliverables and organizational goals.


A little about you (key selection criteria)

To be successful in this role you will have:

    Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and visualization.
    Proficiency in data modelling and data management in cloud data warehouses.
    A high level of proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language such as R or Python.
    Demonstrated experience with Git / Github.
    Experience with dbt, or similar tools like Airflow or Dagster.
    Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and experience collaboratively developing and documenting business requirements with non-technical stakeholders.
