Peregrine is a Berlin-based AI tech start-up improving road safety and minimizing transportation CO2 emissions in cities. Therefore, we create a new quality of information from street-level video data by deriving context from traffic scene imagery. As part of our core team, you develop and contribute to our image and sensor data analytics pipeline. Finding and visualizing correlations and dependencies in highly unstructured datasets is a daily business as well as being involved in designing and implementing a variety of efficient Machine Learning algorithms. With the support of the team, you write high-quality code and automatic tests. You follow our development practices but do not hesitate to challenge them. Pair-programming sessions to solve complex problems and facilitate communication are a known and appreciated way of collaboration to you.
BSc in statistics, mathematics, physics, data science, or similar Experience with Python:
Additional qualifications that will be an advantage:
- Proven knowledge of core libraries such as numpy, scipy, OpenCV, pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn.
- Deep learning frameworks (preferably TensorFlow 2) is a big plus
- Familiar with time series processing and analysis (e.g. smartphone IMU sensors)
- Experience with Git
- Desire to learn, a lot
- Desire to work in a collaborative, team first mindset
- Knowledge and experience with big data problem settings and common machine learning techniques (regression, SVM, random forest, xgboost..)
- Skills in communicating findings clearly and precisely to different stakeholders
- Experience with writing automated tests
- Experience with image processing (feature extraction / matching, calibration, tracking …)
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity, GoCD, CircleCI
- Experience with Bash or another scripting language to automate tasks
