purpose


As a data analyst on the digital channels domain you will have the opportunity to work citizenM’s rich data sources, with a main focus on all data in our data platform. You will be preparing dashboards and performing in depth analysis to provide insights for product owners on the performance of digital products (website, app, kiosk and in-room iPad) across all phases of the customer journey. This way you will be supporting them on making more data driven decisions and prioritize the product backlog based on what brings most value to business and customer. .


This role is part of the Business Intelligence Team, where you will be working closely with all functions in the team to transform data into wisdom for all disciplines within citizenM. As part of that you will closely collaborate with the teams responsible for the digital products, but also with all the stakeholders involved, from other data teams to business and brand teams.


Key Responsibilities


  • support the digital product team with relevant data and insights for their decisions and priorities in an agile way;
  • align metrics between different stakeholders to have a single source of truth
  • collaborate with different teams members, like data frontend developers, application developers and software testers to identify and keep tracking of current and new features;
  • develop dashboards in PowerBI which allow relevant teams to generate insights and track performance for citizenM’s digital channels;
  • identify the requests for consumer insights and separate the nice-to-knows from the need-to-knows;
  • translate these requests into valid research questions;
  • work with big data sets in our data platform to generate the required insights;
  • you are able to translate these outcomes into useful insights and to prepare proposals for metrics and solutions;
  • you will apply different data visualization and storytelling techniques in order to convey the message;
  • in this role you should have a curious mind and will analyze data proactively in order to propose areas in need for insights and in order to seize business opportunities;
  • you will work closely with the digital product teams so you should understand what is happening at citizenM digital strategy and be able to collaborate with several layers within the organization to identify opportunities.


Qualifications / Skills


  • a genuine passion for data and the ability to combine analytical data skills with business knowledge
  • a bachelor (masters preferred) degree, preferably in the field of data analytics, data science or business analytics
  • relevant experience within the domain of digital channels such as websites and apps.
  • experience with analytics tools like: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Firebase
  • have a basic understanding the way websites/apps are tagged and tracked using debugging tools
  • proven proficiency in the use of PowerBI or similar tools
  • decent understanding of relational modeling and relational databases (mainly SQL)
  • basic experience with a statistical (data science) programming language for advanced analytics, such as R or Python is a plus
  • attention to detail and a creative mindset
  • ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
  • strong communication skills – both written and oral – in order to convey complex analytical results clearly
  • you’re eager to understand and learn about operational processes and the data that is generated through these processes
  • experience with an agile way of working
