The Cyber Security Data Warehouse (CSDW) is a critical tool in both the Vulnerability Management and wider Cybersecurity and Tech Controls (CTC) organisation. The platform uses technologies such as Informatica, Pentaho, Oracle and MS SQL and contains numerous data marts for reporting and analytics as well as feeding critical systems for managing found vulnerabilities within the firm.

We are looking for a Data Engineer who is proficient in database and ETL implementations to support the current CSDW platform. At the same time, we are migrating to a cloud based refactored platform that fully uses a DevOps support model delivering automation for continuous deployment and integration (CI/CD).

Key Requirement
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organization skills to keep track of issues & requests and ensure proper follow-up and closure.
  • Good team player, gets on well with others and able to work with people of different skill levels in a distributed environment.
  • Experience in working on projects with demanding timelines.
  • An understanding of quality and process improvement.
  • Ability and interest in learning and developing new skills and experience.

3+ year experience and hands on proficiency in the following tools/skill sets are a must: An ETL tool such as Informatica or Pentaho as well as database technologies such as Oracle and MS SQL, delivering high quality solutions.

You will ideally also have some or all of the following:
  • SDLC lifecycle experience leading development efforts within data warehouse environments with complex dataflow and data integration from multiple sources with different integration strategies (push vs pull, file vs database, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable with data warehouse concepts such as: SCDs, star schema, hierarchy, aggregation.
  • Ability to quickly grasp problems and issues and communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Understanding of development using SCRUM and Agile practices.
  • Experience of using version control technologies such as Git and Bitbucket/GitHub.
  • Previous experience of CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins.
  • Possess good written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience in a general purpose scripting language such as Java or Python.
