Data Scientist - all levels

Our team both research, implement and commercialise intelligent software across the AI spectrum with a specific focus on Deep Learning in Computer Vision and 'AI on the Edge'.

We work with major companies and innovative start-ups across many industries including Automotive, Defence, Medical, Technology and Telecoms.

Digica is searching for a highly-skilled data engineer to join our fast growing team. As a member of this team, you’ll be working on large (Big Data) data sets used to providing data-driven insights to help our customers based on the West Coast of USA and Europe. This is a full-time position based in our office in Łódź.

• 3 or more years experience building large-scale distributed systems
• Skilled in Python, R or Java (Scala is a bonus)
• Working knowledge with at least two of: : Tensorflow, Pytorch, Caffe, Keras
• Working knowledge with relational databases: Postgresql, MySQL, optimizing SQL queries, etc.
• Nice to have: experience with the AWS ecosystem: storage, EC2, analytics tools, queues, etc.
• NoSQL
• Fluency in English language - the majority of our customers do not speak Polish

Description
This role is a hands-on software engineering work, where the majority of time is spent on writing code that acquires big sets of data, transforms, normalises and prepares them for the latter modeling by our Data Scientists. This role requires knowledge of the latest big data technologies, but also an internal drive for designing systems, tuning, troubleshooting and scaling them using latest cutting-edge technologies.

Education
Ph.D. or Masters in Math, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
