Predictive analytics and automation becomes crucial for Vendors to stay competitive on the platform and drive sustainable sales growth.
The Global Amazon team at Philips is looking to hire a dedicated Data Scientist to enhance our analytics E2E value chain through building predictive analytics capabilities. The core remit of this role is to translate ambiguous business questions and concerns into specific quantitative questions, specify data requirements and use sound methodologies to deliver actionable insights and foresights.
You are responsible for
Understand key drivers and impacts on business growth dynamics on Amazon platform
Collaborate with global analytics and business teams to create a roadmap of the most challenging business questions, use data to articulate possible root cause analysis and solutions
Collaborate with Enterprise Information management (EIM) team to build a data pipeline required to feed into machine learning (ML) / deep learning (DL) algorithms
Apply statistical, ML and DL knowledge to build prototypes to resolve specific business problems
Collaborate with EIM to translate successful prototypes into re-usable predictive and prescriptive solutions, and scale across markets and businesses
Strive to enhance accuracy of datasets and scale analytics solutions through automation
Find new ways to improve our analytics capabilities and prove added business value
Is the Global Amazon team at Philips reporting into the Director of Trade Shopper Marketing. The role interacts internally with business stakeholders and analytics experts.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Master/Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
Good communication and stakeholder management skills;
Data science/analytics experience at Amazon Retail related to e.g. search engine, product recommenders, pricing, demand forecast, econometrics modeling, shopper path to purchase, marketing mix optimization, supply chain, marketplace... Knowledge of Amazon Retail Analytics datasets is a plus.
5+ years of hands on experience with statistical analysis, applying various machine learning techniques, predictive modeling and data mining.
5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL) and scripting languages (e.g. Python)
Depth and breadth in quantitative knowledge. Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis skills and problem-solving skills.
Experience articulating business questions and using quantitative techniques to arrive at a solution using available data.
Ability to develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, use of strong baselines, ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations.
