About The Role

A Data Scientist III should understand best practices and processes and be able to execute them independently, reviewing requirements and results with supervisors. Individuals in this role should work with managers to define project scope, and then execute the necessary methods to develop, test and deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily provide support to more senior Data Scientists
  • Pulls data, cleans data, builds and maintains existing models
  • Participates in result presentation to internal stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least an undergraduate degree in relevant field and 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Or a master's degree in a relevant field

Data Science And NLP Skills

  • Formal training in machine learning: dimensionality reduction, clustering, embeddings, and sequence classification algorithms
  • Practical experience in Natural Language Processing methods and libraries such as spaCy, word2vec, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Flair, BERT, large language models and prompt engineering.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Python, Scala or Java background
  • Knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud platform
  • Understanding of data modelling principles and complex data models.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. Postgres, Elasticsearch/ OpenSearch, AWS Neptune)
  • Knowledge of Spark, Ray, or other distributed computing systems highly preferred
  • Knowledge of API development, containerization, and machine learning deployment highly preferred
  • Interest in ML Ops/AI Ops highly preferred

Data Science Skills

  • Competency in relevant skills and software packages
  • Demonstrates competencies in relevant Data Science and/or Statistical frameworks
  • Able to apply Machine Learning, Data Mining, and/or Statistical methods to build advanced models. Able to roll into production with senior guidance
  • Understands and creates typical data steps to prepare and process data for analysis
  • Able to execute standard coding for projects and processes to do the job successfully using company standard toolsets
  • Independent support of small-scale projects. Support from others in supporting more complicated project steps
  • Understands and executes complex methods within discipline, industry and domain
