Marketing Data Analyst/ Data Statistician Specialist Job Overview

ATS Industrial Automation, which includes Mobility, Nuclear, and Specialty Automation, is focused on growing our position in assembly, test, and technology solutions within each segment. As a Data Analyst on our team, you will be a crucial member to help identify growth opportunities in existing and new markets for the business unit. As part of the ATS Industrial Automation marketing team, you will help segment and uncover lateral industries to drive awareness, leads, and market growth. Our industry focuses on
  • Mobility – Automotive EV Battery Assembly
  • Nuclear – Operations, Fuel and Decommissioning
  • Specialty Automation – Electronics, Consumer Product Goods (CPG), Packaging, Warehouse Automation.

As the Marketing Analyst, you will work directly with the VP of Marketing and VP of Strategy to assess current data, segment customers by persona, stage, role, industry, and other criteria to identify new markets and expand marketing opportunities deliver qualified leads. As a Marketing Analyst, you must have excellent analytical skills to study and assess large amounts of data. You must be a critical thinker with strong communications skills to work with sales, engineering, R&D, and other business areas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare dashboards and reports that illustrate and articulate findings – Translate complex results into written texts and visuals that are clear and understandable for others.
  • Devise and assess processes and methods for data collection across the organization.
  • Gather information on current customer sets, identify gaps, segment, and analyze data trends with actionable insights.
  • Analyze marketing metrics to gauge cause and effect relationships
  • Gather competitive information, conduct sales analysis, feet-on-the-street, distribution, and marketing channels to gain an in-depth understanding of competitors.
  • Research marketing strategies and consumer behaviors, opinions, preferences while collaborating with other marketing team members.
  • Track and forecast sales and marketing to uncover trends.
  • Collect and analyze customer preferences, demographics, buying habits; buyer needs to identify areas of improvement at each step of the buyer journey, market potential, and factors that influence buyer behavior and product demand.
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing to measure the effectiveness of advertising, marketing, and communications strategies.
  • Use information from marketing, sales, R&D, and other teams to develop and conduct secondary quantitative research.


  • 5+ years’ in marketing and data analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, statistics, data science, or business administration
  • Experience with CRM programs, including SalesForce
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools, specifically Tableau
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with marketing in international markets is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint


  • Previous experience in market research
  • Knowledge of software applications including Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS)
  • Experience with various survey tools
  • Familiarity with various search engines, business research software, and web analytics
