Hi-Rez Studios is looking to hire a Data Engineer to work at our studio in Alpharetta, Georgia or full-time remote from the US/UK.

The Data Platforms group at Hi-Rez Studios is responsible for the development and operation of data storage, collection, analytics, and machine learning systems that affect all Hi-Rez teams.

What our Data Engineers do:

  • Build and integrate internal and external facing data infrastructure systems and pipelines
  • Proactively monitor systems for resource use and capacity planning
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse and data lake environments
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Business Intelligence, DBAs, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning teams on projects
  • Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling in production environments
  • Participate in developing analytical tools and programs in production environments

Who we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional software experience in a data engineering environment
  • Professional programming experience in a language like Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience with Web APIs and JSON data formats
  • SQL scripting and relational databases
  • Proven skills in data modeling, transformation, and storage methods
  • Experience with Cloud data infrastructure tools (i.e. Azure: Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse Pipeline, Spark, and Event Hubs; AWS: Redshift, Data pipeline/Glue, and EMR)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize competing priorities

Preferred candidate has:

  • Experience with data processing, pipeline, or task orchestration tools (i.e. Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Airflow
  • Familiarity with NoSQL database technologies
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent
