Overview

The Data Analyst 2 is responsible for understanding business/department needs and goals and creating data-driven analysis and insight to support management decisions.

What you will be doing

  • Perform analyses in which information about business trends are gathered
  • Conduct basic, moderate risk analyses with oversight from team members
  • Capture, analyze and understand requirements from stakeholders
  • Collect, cleanse, and analyze data
  • Develop solutions that are intuitive, effective and reusable to complex problems while discovering new and interesting insights
  • Report on findings; summarize analyses into clear, concise and effective reports or presentations
  • Develop and track metrics and/or dashboards
  • Compose internal documentation that details processes and findings
  • Regularly provide input on how to improve internal efficiencies; grow knowledge and be aware of best practices and market trends
  • Provide training and guidance on how to interpret data to the key stakeholders
  • Assist with special projects, as assigned
  • Collaborate with other data analysts across the company to ensure consistent data views
  • Be responsible for the quality and timely delivery of assigned work
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated success in performing analyses
  • Solid project management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient understanding and querying relational or SQL databases
  • Experience with R or Python a plus
  • Experience with business and software product usage data to offer unique analyses
  • Proficient in the use of business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar tools
  • Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
  • Ability to self-develop, learn and continuously improve
  • Organized and experienced at successfully multi-tasking
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on key issues, research, gather and integrate information from a variety of sources
  • Strong critical thinking
  • Motivated by the opportunity to solve complex problems and manage ambiguity
  • Be proactive to leverage all resources that are available to be successful
  • Strong collaborative skills, applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
  • Strong business and technology acumen
  • Up to 5% travel time required
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
