Job Description

This is a remote position and will be responsible for establishing the framework for future data governance standards, policies, and practices for the master data management area. This will include understanding the major business systems and processes defining the core value streams, object models, data models, and data lineage used.

The candidate will be a self-motivated individual, comfortable working independently to understand and describe highly complex sets of interactions. You will work closely with key stakeholders to understand, describe, and model key business processes and their associated business objects, data structures, and interactions to define an enterprise standard used to manage multiple independent channels. Additionally, defining and establishing data standards and controls will be a success factor for this position. Finally, this position will use established models and data lineages, contributing to impact analysis and solution design to ensure compliance with standards can be maintained across independent data consumers with conflicting needs.

The incumbent will leverage SAFE/Agile expertise to drive delivery of products and tools in web, mobile, and watch platforms


  • Create and manage core metadata by working with business streams to document data dictionaries, relationships, mappings, and data lineage as set forth in standards with a broad Enterprise view. Drives resolution of source, definition, naming, and business rule conflicts among consuming applications and user communities.
  • Define and improve processes for managing data along its lifecycle; operationalize data management and governance activities. Focused on sourcing and quality of critical data as well as identification and protection of sensitive data.
  • Monitor data quality, identify issues and trends, oversee remediation plans, implement data controls, and manage data quality remediation strategies with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
  • Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive)
  • Develop and maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
  • Research and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability
  • Assess data quality impacts on business process and system inefficiencies
  • Assists in the implementation of data management tools and training for related tools
  • Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in all phases of the SDLC.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working in an agile/scrum/kanban environment.
  • Expertise in modeling/mapping business processes both as-is and to-be.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with databases, reporting and data preparation tools.
  • Strong SQL skills, ability to execute complex queries for profiling and data analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise data management and cloud integration platforms like Informatica
  • Strong working knowledge of MDM concepts and technologies on one or more MDM platforms
  • Strong analytical skills are essential to complete job requirements successfully
  • Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed
  • Interpersonal and communication skills when meeting with and interviewing stakeholders
  • Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies
  • Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Microservices Architecture design and best practices
  • Experience working with private and sensitive personal information
  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Experience creating and working with analytic/metric scorecards
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
