What The Role Is

The Data Office champions the overall HR data strategy for the whole-of-government and PSD. We are responsible for end-to-end solutioning to allow PSD to use data effectively in developing its policies and programmes, as well as to drive adoption and evolution of HR data analytics across the public service.

To achieve this, the team oversees the full spectrum of activities pertaining to data, including data analysis, infrastructure development, data engineering, data operations, and data governance.

What You Will Be Working On

The incumbent will be part of the Data Engineering & Infrastructure team supporting the operations and development of an IT system, which is a central repository of data from HR systems to facilitate whole-of-government analysis and reporting.

As part of the Data Engineering and Infrastructure team, you would:
  • Support the Team Lead by working with vendor, source system owners and business users to ensure smooth implementation of the system and delivery of target business outcomes
  • Participate in the subsequent system enhancements and fixes through the reviewing of Change Requests (CRs) and Service Requests (SRs) specifications, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans
  • Work with upstream system owners to map out the data harmonisation required, and identify and resolve any data gaps
  • Develop the validation and acceptance criteria with IT to ensure feasibility of solution
  • Execute test cases and review feedback collated during UAT
  • Conduct daily system maintenance and operations work with proper documentation to ensure smooth operations of the system
  • Support monthly account access review, update accounts promptly and prepare access matrix
  • Assist in downloading error reports and disseminating to agencies, keeping all related documents up to date
  • Support queries related to account requests and error reports
  • Manage user queries from generic mailbox
  • Manage and support audit queries
  • Support data requests

  • [Working Effectively with Stakeholders] Strong communications and stakeholder management skills, adept at exploring issues from a user-centric perspective and contributing to a collaborative working environment.
  • [HR Data Management] Keen interest in HR data management and good understanding of data management and data quality concepts. Familiarity with HR processes will be an added advantage.
  • [Experience in HR Enterprise Systems] Prior experience in enterprise systems in HR (SAP, Oracle, Workday) will be an added advantage. Applicants with no prior experience are still welcome to apply.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) with good written and spoken communications skills
  • Self-starter and takes ownership in one’s work

Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance.
