Applications from across the UK will be considered, ideally with proximity to one of the company's Manchester, Sheffield or Leeds city centre offices.---The RoleAs an experienced Data Engineer you will monitor, develop and optimise a data pipeline architecture, as well as design and deliver technical solutions for cross-functional teams. You will work alongside engineers, analysts and data architects to help ensure optimal data delivery and appropriate security procedures and principles are in place, working to optimise the team's technical architecture to support the next generation of products and data initiatives.Key tasks will include- Supporting the management of infrastructure used for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a variety of source systems using SQL, Python, SSIS and other Microsoft tools, on-premises and in Azure- Daily monitoring of data warehouse, ETL process and associated error investigations- Working with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality and flexibility in our data systems- Ensuring that required data is provided effectively and within the Service Level Agreement using appropriate tools---The Candidate- Significant experience in Data Engineer or related role- Skilled working with relational databases, T-SQL, SSMS, SQL Server, SSIS, or similar tools- Experience of developing T-SQL queries, SSIS packages, data pipelines and data sets- Understanding of scripting languages such as Python and C#- Experience of end-to-end data lifecycle from OLTP database to data warehouse, through to visualisation tools, in order to resolve issues, answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement- Knowledge of configuration / change management tools and processes, DevOps and CI/CD- Exposure to different testing, development and project management methodologies---The PackageSalary up to 45,000.
