About This Role


Sierra7, Inc. is seeking an early career data analyst to analyze and summarize data from a multitude of internal and external sources to support business information needs and data driven decision making. The Data Analyst will support the Sierra7 Performance Team to drive performance and quality across the organization. As a member of the Sierra7 Performance Team, the Data Analyst will support the definition, design, implementation, execution, and maintenance of Sierra7’s Quality Management System (QMS), Project Management Information System (PMIS), and organization level metrics and dashboard reporting. The Data Analyst will proactively engage with organizational stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service and increase effectiveness of proposed solutions.


Position Responsibilities


  • Analyze and summarize data from a multitude of internal and external sources to support business information needs and data driven decision making
  • Support data mapping and data dictionary activities
  • Optimize, automate, and maintain as current data collection methods
  • Prepare reports for Sierra7 leadership to include analysis results, graphical/visual representations of data and analysis conclusions
  • Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources
  • Perform analysis to assess quality and meaning of data
  • Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
  • Assign numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time
  • Analyze local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry
  • Prepare reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
  • Working with programmers, engineers, and management to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies
  • Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends
  • Support internal and external audit data requests and actions
  • Support the management of an internal project management information system via change requests, trouble shooting and continuous improvement projects
  • Support other Performance Team initiatives such as process documentation, process improvement and internal process audits


Requirements


Required Skills and Experience:


  • Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations
  • Ability to present complicated data analysis in summarized formats
  • Ability to create visual reports of data in Excel, PowerBI and similar programs
  • Accuracy and attention to detail


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 1-2 years’ experience conducting data analysis in a school and/or work environment
