Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Your mission

• Designing and evaluating ML models and algorithms for elevator predictive maintenance use cases
• Deploying and optimizing these models in production – primarily on the IoT-Edge-Device (AWS Greengrass) and in the AWS Cloud
• Support and optimize the end-end software pipeline around your models
• Be responsible for the ongoing performance evaluation of your models in addition to the performance of the end-end software surrounding them
• Improve our MLOps environment
• Uncover reliable and scalable machine learning applications to our data
  

Your first 90 days

At the start of the role you will:

• Understand the software architecture operating on our IoT-Edge-Device
• Understand our sensor data to a detailed level, be comfortable processing it and be able to distinguish between normal and anomalous operation
• Use this knowledge to develop and deploy your first model or algorithm
• Create real time monitoring of the performance of your model or algorithm
  
  

Your profile

The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of machine learning and be highly experienced in at least one area of the field. You will also have a deep immersion in the field and be up to date with the latest developments. You will also be proficient in software engineering and be able to go from idea to production.

You are great for our team if this describes you:

• Highly experienced in one area of the field such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Graph Neural Networks, Reinforcement Learning, Causal Inference, etc.
• A good understanding of time series analysis and experience with sequence models
• A good understanding of unsupervised machine learning methods
• A good understanding of probability
• Extensive experience with Python and ML Frameworks (e.g. PyTorch) such that you have no problem manipulating data and debugging models
• Are comfortable working with development tools and frameworks such as Docker
• An understanding of audio analysis and signal processing
• Familiarity with real time performance requirements and constraints of ML models
• You have experience with software engineering practices like version control, clean code, code review, testing and monitoring.
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Google Cloud
• Fluency in English

• Demonstrate immersion in the field through personal projects in your github
• Demonstrate participation in ML competitions such as Kaggle
• Experience working with embedded devices
• Experience working with sensor data and have an understanding of sensor fusion
• A good understanding of physics

About us

Who we are Simplifa GmbH structures, optimises and manages elevator portfolios on behalf of the owners and positions itself as a neutral liaison between the owner's representatives and the elevator service companies. Each elevator in Simplifa's elevator management system is technically inspected at the beginning, the current condition is assessed, and the inventory documentation is digitally recorded. The elevator is completely recorded with the help of 360° photos & videos and is then virtually reconstructed.
