Principal Data Engineer (Remote - Nationwide)
Meaningfully contributes on a first class technology team that is developing accountable delivery solutions for the healthcare industry. Responsible for developing data integration solutions in SnapLogic and SSIS as well as data platform solutions in SQL Server. Participates in all phases of the development lifecycle from initial requirements gathering and design through to coding and testing of our data integration and warehousing solutions.
Provides technical direction to data engineering team while collaborating with client partners and business analysts to manage client relationships.
Coordinates software design needs between teams and management to meet development benchmarks.
Helps to establish thought partnership in data integrations and vendor implementations.
Designs and develops scripts, code, and ETL pipelines to leverage client data.
Participates in requirements and design.
Mentors and supports team members in things such as architecture, design, and development best practices.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/related or equivalent
8+ years of SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
3+ years of ETL experience working with SnapLogic or SSIS
3+ years of experience guiding technical teams and projects
Ability to identify, design, build, test, optimize, and maintain data platform solutions
Expert knowledge in SQL and relational data warehousing
Strong project management skills with the ability to guide team projects, manage and prioritize workload, and respond to changing demands/timelines with a customer-focused mentality
Strong problem-solving ability, data mapping, analytical, and design skills
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to train, guide, mentor, and support junior team members
Understanding of C# programming
Experience with healthcare data and EDI
