Data Analyst I - FIU Online

The Data Analyst I is responsible for the development, collection, analysis, and translation of academic analytics pertaining to online programs.

  • Develops enrollment analytics for distance education efforts in partnership with the members of the data analytics team
  • Works closely with the operations team and Instructional Design team to develop a reporting strategy through the use of dashboards and reports that will drive enrollments and student success rates.
  • Assists with one or more statistical research studies to provide actionable insights based on the data collected and recommend policies and procedures to department leadership.
  • Assists data team with predictive analytics initiatives to improve recruitment of quality leads, successful pathway towards enrollment and student success as related to retention, at-risk students, and degree completion rates.
  • Identifies, validates data and presents information to interpret trends or patterns in a clear and concise manner through visual representations and/or written reports and spreadsheets.
  • Develops and manages daily & weekly reports for the Operations team and Instructional Design team. Partners with Salesforce team and other data teams across the university to develop dashboards and reports.
  • Provides training in the use and understanding of the reporting visualization system and its capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, mathematics or related field preferred
  • Knowledgeable in data analysis and manipulation using query tools (such as Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, etc).
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with the ability to translate data into
  • actionable recommendations.
  • Knowledgeable in the reporting and data availability of CRMs (such as Salesforce), LMS (such as Canvas) and client-information systems (such as Peoplesoft).
