Abbott Ireland Diagnostic Division – Longford:
Abbott established a diagnostics manufacturing facility in Sligo in 1994 to manufacture blood-screening products and reagents.
In 2004, Abbott’s operations in Ireland expanded with the opening of a second facility in Longford. The plant was first occupied in December 2004, and the first product (Architect® TSH) was launched in December of 2005.
The Longford facility plays a key role in helping Abbott to meet the increasing global demand for diagnostic testing in areas such as infectious disease, cancer, thyroid and cardiovascular diseases.
Abbott in Longford manufactures 18 diagnostic reagent products for thyroid function, fertility, and pregnancy, cardiology, renal and metabolic. Our products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and are regulated by bodies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Identify business needs, collect, data analysis & interpretation and visualisation of manufacturing and business data
Report insights and help users to make decisions and find improvement opportunities
Develop, manage and maintain KPI’s and dashboards to facilitate performance monitoring and improve business insights
Analyse data, draw insights, and present results in a cohesive, intuitive, and simplistic manner to site and executive management in weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings
Automate the data analysis reporting system and empower business with necessary tools to visualise data for quicker decision making
Collaborate with business users to understand their problems and needs, propose feasible solutions and implement the task or project
Work with IT and business to ensure data accuracy and availability
Lead, mentor and/ or provide guidance to business process owner on how to utilize existing or newly created dashboards.
Search and find new strategies to analyze and grow the business using innovative methods such as AI or machine learning
Participate in continuous improvement projects that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems and process
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
Works independently or Individual Contributor.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:
The following level of education provides a necessary foundation for this Job function:
A third level qualification in Information Systems/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Business Analytics or other relevant discipline is preferred.
Strong knowledge in data visualisation tools such as Power BI
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail and good problem solver
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated team player and ability to work in a globally oriented work environment
