Reporting to the Director of Quality and Safety at Good Samaritan Medical Center (GSMC), will support activities related to processes and investigations within the quality department at GSMC specific to risk management, patient experience, infection control and regulatory readiness. Utilizing internal and external data repositories provides reports to satisfy regulatory requirements and to provide accurate information for internal or external stake holders.
The position will provide administrative support on various activities inclusive of quality management, safety, infection control, risk management and regulatory affairs as identified by the leadership of the quality department at GSMC.
Supports the operation of systems for tracking evaluating, and communicating patterns in quality, service and patient safety.
Supports the collection of data related to patient experience, quality and infection control.
Identifies trends in data to support continuous quality improvement.
Supports data entry into integrated databases, evaluates and reports information to committees as defined by members of the department.
Designs data collection and data entry protocols and tools.
Designs project presentations for appropriate audiences.
Develops procedures and training documents for end users of MCN.
Ensures complete and accurate data entry into all defined databases.
Maintains the MCN Policy Manager database.
Notifies appropriate leaders montly regarding policies due for revision.
Maintains an excel sheet to assess policy compliance.
Tracks policies through the editing and approving process.
Facilitates teh Policy Committee meetings.
Assists with Process Mapping as requested.
Maintains the Joint Commission document binder, ensuring all data sources, presentations are updated based on the established timetable.
Sets up the command center upon the Joint Commission unannounced arrival and facilitates all administrative needs during the survey.
Supports administrative duties including completion of correspondences, meeting agenda and minutes, reports, coordinates activities of the department.
Prepares materials for scheduled meetings, correspondences and answers telephone, records messages and reports issues in a timely manner.
Processes budgetary materials including check requests, orders and reimbursement materials.
Supports quality and safety activities as instructed by the members of the quality and safety department.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Highly motivational communication skills to insure overall management of the office.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent written communication skills.
Bachelor of Science in health related field preferred
2 to 3 years in the health care industry preferred.
Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and experience with Access, Project Manager as well as VISIO
